Hvar – Cobblestones & Leafy Mojitos

254762_10100334814835761_5102145_nCroatia is the jewel of the Adriatic and it was evident everywhere I looked. Swimming in the azure blue waters, relaxing on deck or grabbing a bit of shut eye – it was relaxing in paradise at its best. The time I spent in Croatia is at the top of my list of best and favourite moments. A sailboat sailed me from island to island at a relaxed pace. I would lounge in the sun on the top deck during the day as we sailed, and explore in the evening once we were docked.   I would nestle in my cabin at nighttime and fall asleep to the sounds of the sailboat drifting away, and wake up to a new amazing island.

I walked around Hvar for hours. Climbing to the top of the town, I took in amazing views of unique plant life and impressive boats in the harbour. Thanks to the warm winters, balmy summers and many hours of sunshine, Hvar is extremely popular with travelers.

I was allured by a distinct bittersweet smell as I explored a narrow cobblestone street. Soon I walked by a man in a shop rolling and patting cheese. I came close to get a better look and he broke out into a friendly smile and invited me into his little shop. He gave me samples of cheese and bread and then posed for a picture with me holding a big ball of cheese.

Every evening In Hvar I went to a little bar that is renowned for the best mojitos in the world! For 50 Kuna, I ordered tall, delicious, and beautiful leafy mojitos.
