The Muskokas are located in Northern Ontario, referred to as “cottage country.” This region is a very scenic area, sprinkled with picturesque villages and towns, farming communities, golf courses, marinas, with around 1,600 lakes. I visited this area in the fall and was welcomed with breathtaking autumn beauty! The oranges, the yellows, and the reds reflecting off the deep blue lake is my kind of long weekend getaway. Cozy fireplaces, hot chocolate, the smell of fresh pine and the crunching of the needles below my boots sums up the Muskokas nicely through my perspective.
Not only autumn, but any of our four seasons would be ideal to visit this area. Just as I type this on the couch in my apartment, I’m looking out the window and it is a very windy and chilly winter day, swirling with snow. I am really wishing I could go back to the Muskokas right now and hibernate in a log cabin, read by a crackling fireplace, drink lots of tea and hot chocolate, and maybe even do some cross country skiing.
